Children's Hospital of New Orleans

The Psychology Department at Children's Hospital of New Orleans is accepting applications for the pediatric postdoctoral fellowship position beginning September 1, 2014. The fellowship is a one year (renewable for a second year) training opportunity which provides supervised experience in work with children (birth-21 years) and families in the Department's outpatient clinic and inpatient consultation-liaison service. Inpatient consultation includes chronic and acute illness and is the major emphasis of the training experience. There is a special emphasis on patients with diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and cancer. Applicants should have a background in cognitive-behavioral assessment/treatment, and experience in clinical child and/or pediatric psychology. The Department of Psychology has experienced dynamic growth over the past several years, resulting in the development of new programs and additional subspecialty training opportunities, including pain management consultation, medical (prescriptive) psychology, a new brief outpatient treatment program and an autism diagnostic center. All applicants should have a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology, including final defense of the dissertation prior to starting the fellowship. Stipend is competitive and includes a generous benefit package. Send a letter of interest, vita, and three letters of recommendation to: Sammie Adkins, Administrative Assistant at Children's Hospital, 200 Henry Clay Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118. Applications may also be sent electronically.
