The growing Department of Pediatric Psychology at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange, California is pleased to announce the availability of a pediatric psychology faculty position. Primary responsibilities of the position will be to provide inpatient consultation/liaison services to an acute and chronically ill pediatric population within all medical units of the hospital, as well as outpatient diagnostic assessment and psychotherapy for children and adolescents with chronic medical conditions and general mental health disorders. The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of medical teams and disciplines. CHOC Children’s has a well-established training program and the position will include the opportunity to participate in supervision and teaching within our APA accredited internship, as well as our postdoctoral fellowship and pre-doctoral practicum programs.
Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program (clinical, counseling, or school) and an APA accredited internship are required. Applicants must also have experience working with children and adolescents. Candidates who have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology and/or have pediatric and consultation experience are strongly preferred. Experience working in an Emergency Department or Primary Care environment is desired. Candidates must be licensed or license eligible in the State of California.
