Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology

The Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at NYU Langone Medical Center invites applications for a one to two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology beginning September 3, 2013. The fellowship is designed to prepare a doctoral level psychologist for professional functioning in an academic medical center or outpatient pediatric setting. This fellowship is primarily clinical in nature and provides an opportunity for advanced direct practice in providing psychological services as part of an interdisciplinary medical and psychosocial team. The fellowship offers clinical experiences in pediatric psychology and neuropsychology (e.g., blood disorders, brain tumors, pediatric cancers) as well as clinical child psychology (e.g., attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism and pervasive developmental disorders, emotional difficulties, behavioral difficulties, cognitive and learning disorders). Supervised training is provided in the areas of neuropsychological assessment, outpatient psychotherapy, consultation/liaison, and school advocacy/educational planning. In addition to clinical service, the fellow has the opportunity to participate in teaching and research activities. Onsite interviews will be scheduled individually. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited psychology doctoral program and have completed an APA-approved internship.
