Adrienne Smith Long, Doctoral Fellow

Adrienne Smith graduated summa cum laude from McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering and matriculated into the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern in 2008. In 2011, she came to NIH as a Howard Hughes Cloister Scholar and conducted research in the Immunology Section focused on discerning the relative effectiveness of chimeric antigen receptor therapies toward hematologic vs solid tumors and developing new tools to address the barriers to immune mediated eradication of solid tumors. She has subsequently enrolled in a PhD program as part of a joint Northwestern/NIH Graduate Partnership Program, which will allow her to continue her studies of this important fundamental problem.
