Lauren Long, RN BSN, Senior Research Nurse Specialist

Lauren Meyerson Long completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York in 1981. Ms. Long has been a Research Nurse Specialist at the National Cancer Institute, Pediatric Oncology Branch, since 1996. As a Senior Research Nurse Specialist, Ms. Long serves as an Associate Investigator, Staff Liaison and Protocol Coordinator for the NCI/POB Sarcoma Team, specializing in pediatric solid tumors.
Ms. Long provides comprehensive oversight of clinical trials for the POB Sarcoma Team, delivers complex care within the protocol driven environment, directs and implements methods and tools for the collection, management, and analysis of data generated by multi-centered clinical trials. Ms. Long fosters cooperative partnerships between the NCI POB and external institutions and is involved with numerous collaborative projects and networking within the Sarcoma community. Ms. Long collaborates with multiple principal investigators on protocol design with specific focus on the practicality and feasibility of research driven care. Ms. Long strives to coordinate and support the delivery of outstanding protocol driven, family-centered care within the research environment.
