Emilie Stefen-Smith Biologist

Emilie received her B.A. in 2004 from Colorado College where she studied neuroscience and anthropology. After completing a Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) fellowship in the Pediatric Oncology Branch, she began working as a biologist in the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Section. Emilie’s research evaluates advanced imaging techniques in the diagnosis and follow-up of children with brain tumors, investigating possible biomarkers associated with neurotoxicity, tumor progression, treatment response, and patient outcome based on tumor vascularity, cellularity, and metabolism.
