Eva Dombi, MD

Dr. Dombi received her M.D. at the Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. She completed her pediatric residency training in Budapest, Hungary, prior to moving with her family to the United States. She has been a PET Section member since 2002. Dr. Dombi leads the PET Section imaging program. One of her many roles has been the support of research efforts related to the development of novel medical treatments for children and young adults with NF1 and plexiform neurofibromas. Dr. Dombi had a critical role in the development and validation of a novel method of image analysis for these tumors, which is now used in most ongoing clinical trials nationwide to assess the primary endpoint of disease progression. Dr. Dombi performs central response evaluation of plexiform neurofibromas using volumetric MRI on multiple clinical trials. In addition, Dr. Dombi has several ongoing collaborations with extramural investigators.
