AeRang Kim, MD PhD
Dr. Kim received her MD from the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL and completed her pediatric residency at NYU and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the combined Johns Hopkins/NIH program. She joined the PET Section in 2005, and concurrently matriculated into the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation. Her research has included pre-clinical testing of novel agents, bioanalytical assay development and validation for pharmacokinetic analyses, designing novel trial designs and methods for toxicity monitoring, and leading clinical trials of investigational agents for pediatric solid tumors and NF1 related tumors. She received her PhD in clinical investigation studying the development of sorafenib for children with NF1 and plexiform neurofibromas. Dr. Kim will be joining the faculty at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC and will have a joint appointment in the PET Section.
